Where We Started...

2016

We launched this campaign with a dream to make a tangible difference in the future of Greenwich Country Day School and made the following valuable improvements.

  • Built a new state-of-the art learning space for Upper Elementary students
  • Renovated and restored the historic Warner Estate on Old Church Road
  • Expanded our faculty housing

2018

GCDS announced they would become a Nursery to Grade 12 school and the community came together to support.

  • Built 22 classrooms, a dance studio, band room, and choral room for the Upper School campus on Stanwich Rd.
  • Added top-notch athletics facilities: a fitness center, locker rooms, and two NCAA regulation-size turf fields
  • Developed the Center for Public Good and continued growth of our endowments

Why now?

As we cross the $110 million threshold of our $135 million capital campaign, you can see the affirmation of your investment so far in both tradition and innovation across our campuses. However, our work is not done. We’re asking the community to join this campaign’s tremendous momentum to establish a legacy that will propel GCDS toward the next 100 years.

    What's Next?

To fulfill our campaign promises and culminate our comprehensive vision, GCDS plans to:

    • Construct a 525-seat Performing Arts Center at the Upper School, ensuring students have the very best opportunities for achievement in the performing and visual arts and provide a gathering space for the entire study body.
    • Continue to strengthen GCDS’s endowment, which is fundamental to attracting the best students and faculty, as well as to support innovation in our educational programming.

    Thoughts from our Campaign Co-Chairs

“GCDS nurtures ethical, independent, versatile thinkers and prepares them for a world that is changing rapidly. It’s an education that develops interpersonal, leadership, and life skills—an education for a human being, not merely an education for college.”

    - Tricia Black GCDS FIRST Co-Chair

“I truly believe that GCDS alums succeed in a variety of disciplines, careers, and avocations because we were exposed to a variation of learning experiences in what was a breeding ground for all kinds of thinkers and future leaders.”

    - Taylor Glasebrook, GCDS FIRST Co-Chair
