To work at GCDS is to be part of a vibrant, inclusive, engaged community—a community that works together to create a joyful learning environment in which both children and adults grow and thrive.
Recently, an overwhelming majority of our faculty and staff selected the word “community” as the word they associate most with Country Day. Members of the GCDS community arrive each day at our beautiful campuses and world-class facilities to inspire and be inspired, collaborate with talented colleagues, and know that creativity and passion are always celebrated.
Expectations are high—to continually learn, grow, adapt, and improve in our respective roles. We provide the professional development and resources to support the achievement of these objectives while realizing a healthy work-life balance. In addition to generous compensation and health and retirement benefits, GCDS offers on-site child care, tuition remission, fitness facilities, and healthy, restaurant-quality lunches.
We invite you to explore our employment opportunities and encourage you to apply if you would like to play a meaningful role in the GCDS community.
"The best aspect of being a member of the faculty at GCDS is that we work as a team—across the entire N-12 continuum— with a unified vision and approach for how to create the most effective and engaging student-centered learning environment."
Opportunities at GCDS
The GCDS co-teacher training program employs college graduates in a one- or two-year placement, facilitating entry into the elementary and early childhood teaching profession. The program offers opportunities to explore all aspects of an elementary classroom, while teaching under the mentorship of a lead teacher and enjoying the benefits of participation in a vibrant cohort.
Classroom experience is supplemented with a professional development program featuring noted guest speakers and a seminar series.
In addition to placement in prekindergarten through grade 3 classroom, co-teachers gain broad professional experience working with multiple age groups through responsibilities that include teaching in the after-school enrichment programs for grades K-5 or coaching athletic teams in grades 6-12.
The Co-Teacher Training Program includes:
